Hi Sea of Blooming Dreams readers! I am Eryka from ABCDE. The other Erica, you know the owner of this blog has so graciously let me take over for the day and tell you all about my blog! {Thanks Erica!}

I thought I would take this time to tell you all about my blog and some of the fun things I do over there. Is that ok? Ok, awesome!

First I wanna start with one of the most asked questions I get: "What does ABCDE stand for?!" Well, let me tell you. It's not just the first five letters in the alphabet it's my husbands plus my initials all mixed up. Pretty neat huh? Still confused? Don't worry, I'll explain right now. A {my middle name ANN} B {husbands middle name Bruce} C {our last name Clark} D {husbands name Daniel} E {my name Eryka}. Get it? Yeah, we think it's pretty awesome sauce!

Now that we got that out of the way...

My blog has really grown these last few months. I started my blog in 2008 and had no idea it would've reached the "blogger status" like it has. My blog has always been my outlet. The place where I can be me, and share my thoughts. That is something I have really worked at. You can read about why I blog here.

On my blog I have a few weekly series I do:

On Wednesday is "Weekly Link up" with my blog BFF Ashley. We started it a few weeks ago and basically we pick a topic and then other bloggers can blog about it and link it up to our blogs. As you see I love having a set schedule. It really helps me be in check with the whole blogging thing. Before I would feel so overwhelmed with what I should blog about. Since I have become what my husband calls a "Real blogger" I have learned that being organized, being yourself and having a schedule makes all the difference. Those are some very helpful tips to stay a float in the blogging world. Not that I am an expert or anything!

When The Night Falls

The other night when the boyfriend took me out for dinner, I put this dress on. I've had it for about two years and have only worn it once so I thought it was about time to take it out for a night. I took the pics before heading out when the sunlight was almost gone...I think it fits the mood of the dress anyway with the dark twilight tones. Every time I take photos at the boyfriend's house, the cows always get a bit curious and want to know what I'm doing. I love this last photo of them, their eyes look a bit spooky right?

This weekend on my only day off, I wanted to be able to be a bit relaxed so I put on one of my favorite tees. It reminds me of Marie Antoinette and the whole "let them eat cake" quote. I decided it was time to pull out this skirt again, it's the only way to make a tee feel all girly and fun. This weekend the boyfriend and I went on a spontaneous movie date to see This Means War...loved it and shared lots of pizza. It's been such a drab week and what's a better way to celebrate the weekend than with some fun bright colors that would compete with even the prettiest flowers popping up lately. I've been eyeing all those fun bright skinny jeans everyone has been wearing that I just haven't got the chance to go and get myself, so I figured I would just do it my way and throw on a skirt instead. This morning when I went to get dressed, I searched my closet for some of my most fun bright colored items I could find. You can't go wrong with neon green, teal, and a pop of orange...it's a winner in my book.

Unexpected Findings

This used to be one of my favorite shirts about two years ago. Over time I had forgotten about it until the other day when the boyfriend said, "hey, look what I found in my closet". All this time, it had been hiding in the dark corners of his closet...really? Why had I never thought to search his closet for clothes I couldn't find at home? By the way, I actually found two other shirts I had believed to be gone for good stashed away with the stuff he no longer wears anymore. Anyway I'm happy it's back where it belongs...with me :)

If You Want Something Do It Yourself: Wrap Bracelet

I bought a bunch of zippers a few years ago in hopes of using them for some kind of project. I put them away and sort of just forgot about them until this weekend. It's been raining a lot the past few days keeping me indoors so I decided to be a bit crafty and made this bracelet. I liked the look of the teeth as an edging so I ripped the zipper apart and because I always love something a bit embellished, I added these studs to it. If you want one too, here's how to do it yourself.

1. Push stud through center of zipper

2. Place each stud about an inch apart, I started from the center and worked my way out

3. Place string on zipper and glue down in the middle for both sides

4. Glue down edge of zipper to wrap around string for both sides

5. On one side cut the string shorter & make a loop by creating a knot and glue the ends of the string together. The other side will tie through into a bow.

That's it, your bracelet is ready to wear!

1. Pastel skinny jeans: I really love the lavender color

2. A neon bag: I think they add a fun pop to any outfit

3. Rings with lucky charms: I used to search for four leaf clovers when I was a kid so I've been looking for a cute one to wear on my finger, besides I need all the luck I can get.

Hey everyone, So I skipped yesterday's blog post...I haven't done that in a long time now. While taking photos for my last outfit post, my camera fell and broke. My camera had been a gift from the boyfriend a few years ago and when I told him it was broken, he was quick to tell me not to worry, I could use his. Gosh am I ever so thankful for him and that he knows how important this little blog is to me. It was just a bit colder than usual today, I guess that groundhog was right.

I originally bought this top to incorporate into a Halloween costume. Don't all the sequins just remind you of sprinkles? Yeah me too, and why I had planned on using it for a cupcake costume, which I never really got around to doing. Since October, I've been seeing it just sitting there on the hanger with no intention of ever really wearing it out. That was until yesterday, when I thought I might just take a chance and see how I could make it work into my wardrobe. I actually happened to like the fun sequins paired with the muted color of this pleated skirt...I think it's a good balance. Have you ever taken a chance on something in your closet?

I wish I had a better pic of the top but sadly my camera dropped while taking these photos and now it's not working :( Don't worry though, the boyfriend has already offered to let me use his camera until I can get a new one...what a sweet guy.

I've always liked the whole fishtail skirt trend and have been meaning to update an old thrifted skirt for some time now. When I found this beige dress hidden in the back of my old closet, I knew it would be the perfect candidate. The only thing is, I just didn't feel like cutting and sewing yesterday...so yes it's true. Sometimes I fake it. I just pulled up the hem to get the look I wanted, belted it, and went along with my day...which was spent at Starbucks and running errands before working out. I didn't have to go to work or school, so I was a happy girl :)

Predictable Party Girl

I feel like every time I go out, I somehow always gravitate towards wearing this skirt. Honestly I can't resist it and find myself wishing that I had it in a few more colors, especially pastels like seafoam green. These photos were taken right before Chris and I set off for the night. We spent most of the night dancing and I got to see a lot of my old co-workers...all in all a good night.

Today is my brother's (& Justin Timberlake's...I still love him even though he is engaged) birthday so you know what that means...Birthday Cake!! Hope your day is just as happy as mine :)

If You Want Something Do it Yourself- Heart Garland

I'm one of those people that really loves to get into every holiday so when I saw this cute post I couldn't help but be inspired. I instantly started to come up with ideas and thought this was a fun and easy diy to make for Valentine's day that I just had to share with all of you.

Pipe Cleaners, Scissors, Ribbon

1. Take 2 pipe cleaners and twist the ends together and shape into a heart

2. After you shape the pipe cleaners into a heart push the ends in

3. Get pipe cleaner and come underneath heart and repeat steps to make another heart

4. They should be intertwined. I made my garland starting with the center heart and then worked my way out on each side.

5. I wanted my hearts to get slightly smaller, so if you decide to make your hearts different sizes just cut off however much before you make the heart.

6. After you've made your garland as long as you want it, take a small piece of pipe cleaner and twist it to hold two hearts together.

7. Tie ribbon to each end and you're done!

I told him I had been wanting to use it sometime, although he was sleeping when I took it. Do you ever wear your boyfriend's (or in my case brother's) clothing?

I want to get in on the gorgeous bright lipstick trend! Love the red and bright pink lips:)

I plan on incorporating new colors into my wardrobe. I have a tendency to wear primarily blue things but I've found that I adore this mustard yellow color that I've been seeing around a lot lately. I don't always like new trends but this one I'm definitely going to try out!

This year- I'm rockin' out in button-ups. Whether they're open, belted, buttoned, leopard, or even a little crazy... I'm 100% in love. All my favorite ones are from thrift stores like Goodwill and Youth Ranch. I love being unfashionable!

I feel like it hasn't gotten as cold yet as it has years before. To be honest with you I'm not even sure I miss the freezing cold. I'm in full gear, ready for spring which is pretty evident in what I'm wearing today. This skirt is actually the first skirt I've ever sewn and I'm happy to start wearing it again and I love the neon green color of my sweater top. A Peak into My Sketchbook

With my day off yesterday I decided I would be a good student and get some work done. I've had a certain sketchbook for awhile now that I should have already filled the pages of but to be honest I hadn't really done too much with it. I finally sat down, pulled out all my magazine clippings and a few sketches and filled the pages with what inspires me. I'm hoping by the end of the quarter it will be full but now that I've actually started it, I wanted to share a few pics of what the inside looks like.

I'm inspired by photography, pretty details, music, and color and I wanted my sketchbook to be something fun that I could look back at...almost like a diary that's personal and me filled with pretty inspiration.

Hey dolls, hope the week has been treating you all well. I snapped these photo before heading to school yesterday. I love this top, I think I've always said how much I've always had a thing for the mustard yellow color but hadn't actually worn it until now. I love it!! I'm so happy that I finally embraced wearing one of my color crushes...it's been a long time coming. Today is my day off from work and school...it feels nice to have a day to not worry too much about anything.

If You Want Something Do It Yourself-Bow Necklace

Over the weekend I decided I wanted to make something fun and easy to add to my wardrobe. I ended up going with a tulle bow necklace because let's face it, a girl can never have too many bows and I love tulle. I had a bunch of black tulle at home but I think this would be fun in other colors like pretty pastels or even lace and I only need a few inches of fabric. So if you want it, here's how to do it yourself.

1-4. Tie your tulle into a bow

5. Puff out the ends so your bow looks full like this

6. Cut 2 pieces of felt-approx. 1/2 inch

7. Hot glue one piece of felt to the back of the bow

8. Line up chain, make sure you have it in the middle

9. Glue the second piece of felt to secure the chain in place

I had a pretty relaxing weekend...which you can probably notice by what I'm wearing.

I've got jeans on ...and flats, this doesn't happen too often. You know that you usually find me at least in heels. I wore this yesterday while I made burgers for my family...cooking more often was one of my goals for the year...Yes! I'm off to a good start :) We watched the Texans play, it was a good game. I just wish we would have won...oh well there's always next year. I did get some sketches done and now know what I'll be working on this quarter for school. I'm actually really excited about my projects this time around. Oh how do you like my bow necklace? I made it this weekend and will be sharing it with you tomorrow :) yeah I know you're excited. me too.

Easy Going Kind of Day

The week went by so fast and with school started, I already have so many projects due. This quarter my thing is going to be to actually get things done early and stay on track. Today is my day off and I've decided to have one day to take it easy but for the rest of the weekend I will probably consume myself with lots of sewing, drafting patterns, and sketching. I started off this morning with breakfast with my parents and brother...you may have seen what I had on twitter...but anyhow this is what I wore. It's completely comfortable and easy going which is exactly how I want to feel.

Oh and I'm wearing red nail polish again :) It's one of my favorite colors that I haven't worn in about a year already. I guess I'm just a little excited Valentine's day is coming up, speaking of which I have a fun diy project to share with you that you can use for the holiday.

If You Want Something, Do It Yourself- Lace Tee

When I saw this dress from Monique Lhuillier, I instantly fell for it. There's something I love about the unexpected placement of lace on this design. I had this plain purple tee at home and knew I could use the same kind of concept. If you want one too...here's how to do it yourself.

1. Supplies- Tee, lace, scissors, paper & fabric glue (ribbon is optional)

2. Make a template for lace design

3. Once your template is drawn, cut it out

4. Fold lace until you have four layers, place template on top

5. Cut out template so you have 4 triangles

6. Lay out lace on tee in the design you want

7. Dot each inside point with fabric glue,

this made it easier for me to keep lace in place while I glued down all the edges

8. Cut ribbon to length of the triangles outer edge, apply fabric glue to ribbon

9. Glue down ribbon to each lace triangle & wait to dry

Doesn't it look gorgeous outside? I'm so glad I took these photos yesterday because today it's been raining like crazy. I was woken up by thunder and lightning and my yard looks more like a lake. Yesterday the boyfriend and I spent our afternoon relaxing with a little day date to get ice cream. After this weekend I needed a day to relax. Friday and Saturday night were enough to get partying out of my system for awhile. I wanted to feel a bit flirty so I threw on ruffles, sequins, and tulle...yup that's my way of doing it.

Every now and then I like to mix the unexpected. I feel like this skirt is so lady like and feminine with it's pastel pink color and pretty pleats. I think this shirt is a bit harsh with it's big bold black and white stripes, I usually wear this to my rock concerts but I like the contrast between the two. This is my last free weekend before school starts...I'm not ready to go back just yet. Oh well I'm going to make the best of it...movie and dinner date with the boyfriend and margaritas with my sisters sounds pretty good to me. What are your plans for the weekend? Do tell :)

I finally had the day off today, it feels nice to get a day to myself before school picks up again. I decided to wear this maxi skirt because it's completely comfortable and although it takes almost no effort to get dressed it still looks pulled together with just about anything. Remember the last time I wore this skirt as a sheer maxi? Well I decided that I wanted to just wear it as a full length black skirt...so versatile right? Yup, just another reason why I love this skirt. And you know that I almost always gravitate towards sequins when trying to feel a bit dressed up. I like that this shirt has more of a subtle sparkle that is easily pulled off for a daytime look.

What I Want For Myself

A new year always brings on new hopes and expectations for the coming months.

Last year was great but I'm determined to make 2012 just as good if not better.

Here are my goals for this year.

1. Start taking dance classes again

2. Sew something for myself to wear & complete 2 projects a month

3. Cook more often

4. Save up for a better camera

5. Take a trip somewhere

6. Make this blog better and hopefully at least double in followers

7. Stop procrastinating with school work

It's not a huge list, but it's a list I can actually see myself accomplishing.

So here's to 2012...let's make this happen!

Since the new year has started most of my time has been spent working long hours and sleeping. I had the morning off today and felt that I needed something to add some life to my mood. Doing floor sets until 3 in the morning and then going back to work at 7:30 really messed me up and I've been so tired lately. I thought this top was perfect to cure a sluggish mood. I love the bright stripes and how it reminds me that spring is not too far away.

I celebrated the new year with the boyfriend and some of my family and his family.

I had a fun time ringing in the new year :) I ate my black eyed peas, it's a tradition in my boyfriend's family, so hopefully this will be a good one. I hope you all like my dress, it's a bit hard to see all the detail in these photos but I really wanted to share with you all. This is a dress I made myself while I was in school this past quarter. And yes that is star garland wrapped in a halo around my head...it was such a fun alternative to the same happy new year crown I end up wearing every year.

A Look Back at 2011

I just thought I would share a few photos and highlights I liked from 2011.

January

This blog was still pretty new in January. I rang in the new year at my sister's house, started wearing Christmas presents like this purple blouse for outfit posts, and discovered that the boyfriend's ranch is a beautiful place to take photos.

February

Roses for Valentine's day is always the best. The weather is always a bit funny, it's still cold enough to wear tights and a sweater but then warm enough to wear fun spring prints. I also bought this cute cat ring...which is now lost :( This is also the last month I had my natural hair color...I'm not too sure if I'm going back to black but maybe soon.

March

I almost didn't blog at all during March...I think I only had 3 posts. I went to the beach that month and by the time I shared these photos I had left my job I had for the past 3 years and felt fully inspired for new beginnings. I guess that's what the beach does to you, it's one of my favorite places to be although I don't get the chance to visit that often.

April

I started off the month to a great start with a trip to visit my sis in D.C. While there we celebrated my niece's 2nd birthday, did a photo shoot with the cherry blossoms, and visited a few museums. I happen to love this picture of Julia Child's show kitchen...I had just seen the movie and been gifted one of her cook books. I also shared this photo of the boyfriend and I, it's one of my favorites.

May

This is my birthday month and I didn't even post about my birthday...lol. I did however go to an amazing concert in San Antonio that changed my views on Avenged Sevenfold, sewed my first attempt of a skirt, tried a new hairstyle, and took this photo of Tyson, my brother's dog. He passed away about a week ago but looking back at this pic makes me really happy.

June

On the last day of May I went to go see my favorite band play. By the early hours of June 1st I had met the singer, Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach...I was a happy girl. Oh that photo of the hot rockstar is Jerry Horton, the lead guitarist...love. I also took photos of my flower rosette heels with pretty little flowers, learned that running in the beauty at my boyfriend's house beats running on a treadmill, and wore white pants for the first time ever...they were for a class project, I added lace inserts.

July

I shared this photo of the 4th of July cake my family makes every year. It seriously tastes as good as it looks. My sis from D.C. came down to visit and we did a little photo shoot, I sewed another skirt after being inspired my other fashion bloggers, and snapped this photo of my bow heels...they were a go to favorite I wore all month.

August

The boyfriend had asked me to be a little creative when baking his mother's birthday cake so I did layers. So far I had made all of the birthday cakes for his family...I was a bit flattered. His sister's birthday is coming up in January...will I be asked again? Do I really impress with my cake baking skills? We will have to see...I also played mixologist and learned how to make a dunk margarita, found this tutu skirt which has become a favorite in my wardrobe, and started being more experimental with clothing...this fun print skirt is really a shirt.

September

It gets rather hot down in Texas so for those too hot to handle days I often cool down with treats like sno cones. This photo was taken at a local favorite. Something to love about Texas...my sis had finally moved back and now I get to see this cutie more often. I ended up seeing Avenged Sevenfold...again...that was 3 times in one year and they were even better than the time before. I also shared these fringe ankle cuffs...my favorite diy.

October

This happens to be one of my favorite months. The county fair comes which means good music, rides, and delicious foods like corn dogs, cheeseburgers, turkey legs, caramel apples, lemonade, sausage on a stick...really I could keep going on...I eat pretty bad all week. I also visited a pumpkin patch for the first time, shared some love for the Texas Rangers...too bad they didn't win the World Series, and I let the boyfriend play photographer. This is a photo of the early morning behind his house...the sunlight coming up really is gorgeous.

November

This month was all about enjoying some cooler weather. I started wearingmb my leggings again and tights became an almost everyday must. Now that I was working a part time job in the mall, forever 21 was right around the corner which means time to buy more accessories. I also wore a maxi skirt for the first time, I had been wanting to try this trend for some time.

December

Sea of Blooming Dreams turned 1!! I'm still excited about that and so happy to have you all here :) This birthday photo shoot was something my sis and I did together and I loved the results. I rocked out in sequins to one of the best concerts ever this month. If Rise Against ever comes to your town, you have to see them...trust me they are beyond amazing. I'm also happy to see that after year later of starting this blog I'm still having fun doing outfit posts and sharing them with you all.

Breaking Up Black

I hope you all had a lovely time over the holidays. Mine was great and pretty busy so I took yesterday to relax, do a little shopping with all those Christmas gift cards, and catch up on all the tv shows sitting on the dvr. Before shopping I had the boyfriend snap these photos of me with this tractor at his place...I thought it was fun. If you follow my twitter you may have seen a pic of this skirt last week. It was a thrifted skirt I up-cycled and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I plan on sharing with you all just in case you want to make an old skirt new again, so stay tuned :)

I can't believe it's already been a year! This little blog is finally 1 year old and I have had an amazing time writing new posts, meeting new people, and being inspired by so much in the blogosphere. About a year ago I was stuck in a job that I really couldn't stand and had even got to the point where I could care less about my appearance because I didn't see anyone while I was at work. I started this blog to record what I was wearing so that I would start to put more effort into getting dressed in the morning and find that place where I could have fun with fashion again. A year later and I'm so happy to see what Sea of Blooming Dreams has become. It's been a great year and I'm looking forward to another. Old Habits Die Hard

Lately everything has been somewhat of a chaotic mess, almost like this picture above. Mainly when I say everything, I pretty much just mean school. My last final is tomorrow and if my on call shift at work doesn't need to be used tomorrow night, I think a celebratory drink is necessary for making it through the quarter. This is what I wore to school today and how I spent my day. I've had this top for a few years now and I always feel great in it...just the shirt I needed for a day like today. I'm currently running off of about 4 hours of sleep and tonight is going to be another long night. I'm working on a presentation board for my last final. I have a really bad habit of putting off school work until the last minute...something I picked up my senior year in high school that I've been trying to break. Unfortunately I guess it's true what they say, old habits die hard.

Do any of you have any bad habits you just can't seem to break?

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

If You Want Something Do It Yourself- Poncho Style Top

After wearing my black crotched poncho the other day I realized how extremely easy it is to recreate.

Because it's simple to make, having several in different fabrics would be a fun way to add to your wardrobe.

I feel in love with this print when I saw it at the fabric store & knew it would be great for this project.

Here's how to do it yourself.

-Scissors

-Needle & Thread

-Pot Lid

-Fabric

1. Fold fabric in half to create a fold (this is where the hole for your head will be).

I used about a yard and a half of fabric. I wanted my sleeve area to be a bit long so I measured from wrist to wrist.

2. Cut out the hole for your head by using the pot lid as a guide or stencil.

I had a small pot lid so I used half of the lid as my guide.

This is what it will look like after you've cut it.

**This part is optional**

If you want to wear this like a poncho you're already done :)

3. I wanted a place for my arms so I created a sleeve by making a single stitch a few inches down from the fold of the fabric.

-I've seen a few styles where there is no side seam,

so if you want an open side seam then you're done!

4. To make the side seam, stitch from the bottom and work your way up to your sleeve stitch.

All done & your poncho style top is ready to wear!

I hope everyone has been having a good week. Mine has been pretty busy so far. Finals are next week so I've been sketching and sewing with most of my free time. The school is doing a fashion show tomorrow that I'm participating in so hopefully I'll be able to get some photos. I just wanted to show you all the new top I made yesterday. I had seen the fabric at the store earlier this week and knew I wanted to do something with it. DIY post on how to make it is coming up tomorrow.

Saturday night I went to a concert to see the band Rise Against. Me and the boyfriend have been wanting to see them for the past 4 years and the wait was totally worth it. I'm surprised I didn't lose my voice, I had such a great time. I just wanted to share my usual concert style with you. I almost always wear these boots with some form of tights and a skirt or shorts. Lately I've been going to a bunch of rock concerts and the boots just put me more in the mood for some good music. I usually change up the look with a fun top, this one I feel in love with for the sequin stripes.

So we are already in December and it's still warm enough to get away with short shorts and a boyfriend cardigan. I kind of like the the cardigan hiding the shorts, it almost looks like a mini and gives me really long looking legs. Today the weather is actually perfect with a good breeze of cool air, I'm headed to Starbucks to do a little homework reading outside before class starts. Hope you all have a great weekend. Just because the weather is cooler outside doesn't mean I necessarily want to dress in dark cool colors. Every now and then it's nice to get rid of the winter blues with some brights. This room has neutral colors with pops of bright accents which is how this look was styled. The foundation of the outfit is pretty neutral with a black clutch, long sleeve gray tee, beige skirt, brown belt & Lita's. The rest of the outfit like a bright blazer, polish, earrings, and an assortment of black and white bangles just dress it up.

If You Want Something Do it Yourself- Stud Earrings

My brother was trying to get rid of an old studded belt he had. When I saw him trashing it, I knew I could use the studs to make a few cool projects. I wanted to share this super easy diy stud earring idea with you all. It takes hardly any time and after a few minutes you will have some awesome earrings to add your accessory collection.

Here's how to do it yourself:

1. A pair of earring posts

2. Pieces of felt, I cut each of mine 3/4 inch

3. Studs (8 total)

4. Glue gun

1. Make sure brads are pushed in to the middle, I did just by using my fingers.

2. Place glue on backside of stud.

3. Attach to felt.

4. After all four studs are attached trim the edges of the felt.

5. Place glue on back of felt and press the ear post down where you want it. I wanted my earrings to be in the shape of a diamond so I placed my post at the top corner.

6. Repeat all of these steps to make a pair.

Yesterday when getting dress, I realized I had left my heels behind at the boyfriend's place. The only close toe shoes I had were my black boots which I normally wouldn't have worn with this look. I wear these boots all the time when I go to my rock concerts and almost felt like they were too harsh for the lady like skirt. I have to say I actually like the way it looked together...I guess you'll never know if you don't try something different every once in awhile.

Pretty Things: That Make Me Want to Spend my Time Outside

Hey lovelies, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the weekend :)

Now that it's Monday, I wanted to start the week off with Pretty Things: just a series of beautiful images that inspire me.

With the weather finally starting to change I realized I don't get outside as much as I would like to. These pretties are making me want to spend my days and nights outside while it's still warm enough to do so.

1. During the day it would be nice to lay in a field telling my dreams to the flowers around me.

I'd wear one of my most girly dresses and sketch all day in my inspiration book and maybe sing a few songs with the birds around me.

2. At night I wouldn't mind getting lost in a world with just the boyfriend hiding out in a place of our own under a tree of lights. We'd laugh all night and talk about all the adventures we are going to take together while staying warm under a cozy blanket.

Remember how I said I organized my closet, well luckily for me I found theses leggings. I woke up this morning to thunder, rain, and chilly weather, the kind of weather that is good for leggings and boots :) For gloomy kind of days I always like to spend my day in something with a little sparkle. I just bought this tank and am in love with the clusters of rhinestones. It really takes what could be just a casual tank and legging look to a different level.

Hey everyone, I hope you all get to enjoy the weekend. I've been keeping myself busy and it doesn't seem like there will be much time for relaxing this weekend but hopefully I'll get the chance.

Here's what's been keeping me busy.

1. Sewing a dress I'll be wearing for my cousin's wedding...can't wait to show it off to you.

2. Easy projects like this banner to make my room more pretty.

3. Pretty bows in seafoam, pink, & white. After making the one I wore in the previous post, I decided to make some more for the shop.

4. Organizing my closet, it's so nice to see what I actually have in my closet!

Going to New Lengths

I finally decided to embrace longer lengths, I've been wanting a maxi skirt for quite some time but had always talked myself out of buying one. This skirt is actually meant to be worn as just a normal black maxi, but I decided to pull the lining up to make it sheer at the bottom. I think it's a little more fun that way and because I didn't cut it and only did a few stitches in certain places, I can always let it down to make it black in full length. I didn't want the long length to make me feel to dressed up so I paired it with a simple racerback tank I had that says, I love you more than cupcakes. I'm actually loving this new length and I love the feeling of the fabric flowing in the wind...it makes me feel all girly and pretty :)

I liked this room because of all the neutrals with just a pop of light pink and of course the chandelier. Chandeliers just add a glam feel to anything right? I've always liked the idea of being able to dress up for a night out when it's a bit chilly without being covered in a huge jacket. I think adding a leather jacket to a form fitting dress still allows you to feel glamourous and sexy for a night out. It really doesn't take much but chandelier earrings, a variety of rings, the perfect lace up booties, and an interesting clutch to complete the look.

Oh and a messy bun just looks effortlessly sexy.

I love this shirt because it makes enough of a statement without really needing anything else, which is great for me because I'm bad about adding accessories to my outfits. I'm actually trying to build up my accessory collection and I just bought this ring from forever 21...love it. How was your weekend? Mine was spent relaxing when I should have been doing homework...I'm paying for it today. I wore this out to an early morning coffee and out to pick up all my things for school projects. Well I'm off to go workout, this week starts my second week of consistent workouts so I have to keep up the routine.

11.11.11. Thankful

1. Being surrounded by family everyday.

2. Having people in my life that believe in me & keep pushing me to stay in school on days that I feel like taking a quarter off.

3. The amazing relationship me & the boyfriend have, 8 1/2 years and it keeps getting better.

4. Mornings of being able to sleep in till whenever I want. There was a time for about 6 years that I was getting up at 6:30 to be at work.

5. Having a body that allows me to dance, swim, walk, & exercise.

6. Being at a halfway point in school, I thought I would never go back.

7. Breakfast tacos & coffee with my parents, grandma, & aunts. This happens at least once a week if not more.

8. Finding myself being more creative this year than I have in a long time.

9. 4 years with my car today, it's been with me through a head on car crash (drunk driver, not my fault) and all the way to Florida and across Texas and hasn't let me down.

10. Being able to connect with all of you through this blog, 1 year is coming up :)

11. Living where I can enjoy the beauty of the world around me.

No Time for Sleeping

I had the day off today but I actually didn't get the chance to sleep in. The boyfriend woke me up to get in an early workout. We just got a membership to the gym 2 days ago and are really trying to get each other motivated. So far so good :) This is what I changed into after my workout to go to the grocery store and buy healthy food...lately I've been obsessed with spinach. My sister gave this sweater to me last year for Christmas and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. I felt like I pretty much lived in it because I feel like it looks good with just about anything. Do any of you have something favorite you would wear everyday if you could? I've been keeping this sweater in my car for days when the wind picks up and it gets a bit chilly out here...days like today.

I woke up this morning to a nice little chill. It was extremely windy and the coldest it's been so far. I had an 8 am class and it was so hard to get out of bed. Really, who wants to step out into the cold when you can stay snuggled in your bed? Midterms are this week so I didn't have too much of a choice. At least I had this dress with the cutest little birds, which honestly I haven't worn since sometime in spring...how did I forget about this adorable dress? Anyway, I had a lot more fun being able to dress it up with layers and boots...so excited for cooler weather that actually stays longer than a few hours :)

Breakfast with my aunt & my family...it was her birthday.

Halloween 2011

So my holiday has come and gone but I still wanted to share some pics with you all, so bare with Halloween for one more day...ok :) Thanks. My niece from out of town came to visit with my sister so I went with her to take the little fairy trick or treating...of course I had to dress up. I pulled together a witch costume with stuff I already had at home. Can you believe somebody passed by in a car and called me a whore when we went trick or treating? What? Really? I wasn't even wearing one of those sexy costumes but oh well I guess that was someone giving me an evil trick. My mom also had a Halloween party this weekend so the past weekend was spent celebrating...how was your Halloween?

Cupcakes my niece decorated...what does this cupcake say to you? It's suppose to be "boo" all the way around but it can double as boob...haha. I think it's funny :)

Lately while shopping (now that I have a job) I've found myself drawn to mustard, a color I've never worn before. It's the perfect color for autumn and looks amazing paired with just about any color...like black & white in the outfit. For this look I put together pieces with fun details like a skull ring, ruffled top, pleated skirt, and mary janes....just some of my favorite things. I can imagine myself wearing this out for a date night with the boyfriend. It's girly and pretty but still has some edge to it.

The boyfriend is a huge baseball fan...his favorite team happens to be the Texas Rangers. Since dating him, he's made me a fan as well and we have been having fun cheering for them while they've been in the World Series. I decided to wear my team shirt today and dressed it up the best way I know how...a ruffled tulle skirt and killer heels. Get used to seeing these heels, I'll probably be wearing them all the time. The boyfriend took these shoes off of my wish list, he's the best isn't he? The game just started so let's hope they win :)

Girl Around Town

For work reasons...still excited about that, I've been having to dress in all black. Now I have a bunch of black clothing so it's not a problem finding an outfit to wear, but after 3 consecutive days of dressing only in black, it can be quite a drag. So today I decided I would dress in one of my most girly outfits to have fun in while running around town doing errands. Yesterday the boyfriend surprised me in the morning by telling me he had taken the day off from work. Do Monday's really get any better? We went out on a day date for shopping and lunch and by the time the afternoon strolled around, we were at the candy store stocking up on all the goods to go see the Lion King 3D...yes I know how old we are, but hey we're kids at heart. I love the Lion King, so does he, we have fun together like that :)

Early Mornings

I love early mornings out at the boyfriend's place. There is always a nice fog covering the ground and the sunlight that hits between the trees is always so beautiful. I got the boyfriend to be my photographer and it was fun to have him behind the camera. Actually it was fun to have a photographer instead of pressing the timer button on my camera...having Chris be the photographer just made it better. There are plenty of areas around his home that I've been wanting to take photos at...I think his place is my new favorite photo shoot area. Do you have a favorite spot you like taking photos?

Wine Tasting Party

My family pretty much loves Halloween and we try to celebrate as many times as we can during the month. Last night my sister decided to throw a Halloween wine tasting party with just the girls. Everyone brought different wines and had a bit of each. It was so much fun to sit around and have girl talk while enjoying a nice glass of wine and treats like cheeses, chocolate, grapes, and cupcakes. My sister makes the best chive and pecan cheeseball and she says it's super easy to make. I'll have to learn and share with all of you. This was the first time we've done a wine tasting party but we've already decided it's the kind of party we want to have often. Do you do anything fun leading up to the Halloween festivities?

Pumpkin Patch

Do you ever go to a pumpkin patch during the fall? This was actually my first time...what?!? I know :) This may look like pumpkin overload but honestly the weather hasn't put me in the mood for autumn so I'm glad this pumpkin patch did. I'm now even more excited about everything like boots, leggings, chunky sweaters, changing leaves, and treats like hot chocolate and pumpkin spice lattes.
